Your unforgettable 3-day Tanzania safari adventure begins with a pick-up from your Arusha hotel at 8 AM. Once everyone is on board, you will embark on a scenic 240 km drive to the Serengeti National Park, which takes approximately 6 hours. The Serengeti, meaning “endless plains” in the local language, offers a breathtaking view as the grasslands stretch as far as the eye can see, merging with the sky on the horizon. This iconic landscape covers an area of 14,763 square kilometers, making it one of Africa’s most expansive and awe-inspiring safari destinations.
The Serengeti is home to the “Big 5” — lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard — and offers opportunities to spot these majestic animals in their natural habitat. You’ll also encounter the graceful Impala, one of Africa’s most beautiful animals. As you explore the Serengeti, you’ll be immersed in its vast ecosystem, supporting the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The central Serengeti, known as the Seronera area, is a prime wildlife habitat, with the Seronera River providing a vital water source that attracts various species. This area is famous for its lion prides and the Serengeti kopjes, large granite boulders that serve as shelter for various flora and fauna.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch during the day’s game drive. As your exciting day winds down, you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner before resting at your accommodation.
After a fulfilling breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, capturing moments of wildlife in action. Later, you will travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will have a picnic lunch en route.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a must-visit destination during any 3-day Tanzania safari. Known as the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater offers isolated natural beauty, with its expansive floor measuring 14 kilometers in diameter. Surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes, the crater floor hosts approximately 30,000 animals, including elephants, buffalo, and zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the UNESCO world heritage site, is the only conservation in Tanzania which allows the coexistence of wildlife with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists, covering 260 square kilometers with a depth of over 2,000 feet. During your 5-hour game drive on the crater floor, you will have the opportunity to spot a variety of animals, including the African elephant, buffalo, black rhino, cheetah, hippos, hyenas, and lions.
A picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool offers a chance to relax and take in the surroundings before beginning your ascent out of the crater. After the final leg of your safari, you will drive back to Arusha, with an estimated 4-hour journey. By 6:00 PM, you will be dropped off at your preferred location in Arusha, concluding your 3-day Tanzania safari with a heart full of memories and stories to share.
